On 15–16 October 2025, the ONEPlanET project will host its General Assembly in Praia, Cabo Verde, bringing together consortium partners, stakeholders, and collaborators from across Africa and Europe. The event will take place at Hotel Pestana Trópico and will also be available online for remote participants.
This year’s Assembly marks an important milestone in the project’s journey to strengthen the Water–Energy–Food (WEF) Nexus through innovation, research, and collaboration. It will serve as a space for partners to share progress, evaluate project outcomes, and strategize for sustained impact beyond the current phase.
What to Expect
Reflecting on Achievements and Lessons Learned
Participants will look back at the key milestones achieved so far, including progress across pilot sites, capacity-building efforts, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that have shaped the project’s evolution.
Unveiling Tools and Insights
The Assembly will feature live demonstrations of key project outputs, including ONESim and other WEF Nexus toolkits — open-access resources designed to support policymakers, researchers, and practitioners in developing sustainable and data-driven resource management strategies.
Strengthening Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange
The event will also bring together sister projects such as EMERGE and EPIC AFRICA, providing a platform for dialogue on shared goals, lessons learned, and opportunities for continued collaboration.
Public Dissemination Event
Alongside the internal sessions, a public hybrid event will be held to showcase how ONEPlanET’s open-source models and digital tools can be applied across Africa and beyond. These discussions will emphasize practical pathways to integrating clean energy, food, and water management systems within local and national frameworks.
